More About Terrence
Prior to joining the Jamboree, Terrence was a classical actor performing with the Bearrymores . His acting career came to a flying halt after a fall from the balcony during Romeo and Juliet brought the house down- literally!

In the original version of the show, terrence was advertised as the “Shaker” in the recorded album and in the advertisements for Disneyland. At the end of his song, there is a drum beat with accompanying flickering lights and terrence waving his head wildly. In the present version of the show, there is no reference to his nickname.

In the Vacation and Christmas versions, terrence is far more cartoonish and has undergone some character development. His voice is significantly deeper and he performs with a “prop” animal in each version.

In the Christmas Special, terrence becomes a polar bear. He is completely white, and performs next to a penguin in a giant block of ice who occasionally shakes to ring the jingle bells atop the ice cube. All the while, terrence is whispering to the penguin, “hey, help me out here”, “I can’t hear you” and “I thought you were gonna sing along”.

In the Vacation Hoedown, terrence does not have much better luck with his duet partner, Delores, an octopus with a pink bow. He Sings “Two Different Worlds” while dressed in a snorkel mask and swimming trunks. He performs a similar bit to that in Christmas Special, whispering complaints to Delores “hey, quit squeezing”, “ow”, “come on, let go!” and finally “this just ain’t workin’ out Delores”.

terrence is one of the bears who sometimes appears as a character walking around the park.

Behind the Bear
Terrence is voiced by “Pops” Van Stoneman. In Vacation Hoedown and Christmas Special, he is voiced by Harry Middlebrooks.
